Concentric Millefiori Paperweights

The purpose of this page is to let you explore the differences between different makers for concentric millefiori paperweights from c1845 to the present.

There are a number of factories represented, including Baccarat, St. Louis, New England Glass Company, Murano, Scottish makers (Perthshire, Vasart, Strathearn, St. Kilda)

When making an identification, you can only look for hints.  The evidence is often not conclusive and you have to rely on experience and similarities to known weights.  This is a skill that is best acquired by handling many paperweights of known attribution to become familiar with colors, patterns, shapes, feel, execution, and structural elements such as millefiori canes, lampwork, and grounds.

I will be adding more examples, so please come back to this page from time to time.
