The New England paperweights were made at two factories, New England Glass Company in Cambridge, Massachusetts and the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company in Sandwich, Massachusetts. Both produced paperweights at the same time, both were founded by Deming Jarvis, and both declared bankruptcy in 1888.  The differences are not always clear.  I've added a startling new example at the end (July 1999).
