Peter McDougall started his glassmaking career as an apprentice at Strathearn Glass in Crieff, Scotland back in the 1960s. When Perthshire was formed in 1968, he left Strathearn to move to Perthshire and worked there in many positions, eventually becoming Manager and Chief Glassmaker. Perthshire Paperweights closed early in 2002 and Peter is now making high quality glass paperweights from his own glass studio, PMcD Glass Studio Ltd. in Crieff, Scotland. I am pleased to be able to offer this selection of PMcD paperweights.

| 2725 | Peter McDougall Medium Spaced Complex Millefiori Paperweight.
New design from Peter McDougall consisting of 19 different complex millefiori
canes over an almost opaque black ground. The pattern can be called
a concentric, but most collectors would refer to this as a spaced millefiori
design. A crisp design with perfect execution. It is
signed on the bottom with a complex cane made from four separate letter
canes forming the signature PMcD and also has a paper label "PMcD Glass
Studio LTD, Handmade in Crieff Scotland."
Size: 2 1/4” diameter by just over 1 1/2” high.

| 2775 | Peter McDougall 2010 Annual Edition #3 Concentric Millefiori on
Lemon Yellow Ground Paperweight. This paperweight features a
Clichy style setup with two concentric rings of millefiori canes around
a central complex millefiori cane. The outer ring has an alternating
pattern of large turquoise blue complex canes and simpler red canes.
The ground is a translucent yellow. An amazing paperweight.
This paperweight is signed on the bottom with a new complex signature / date cane that includes the initials "PMcD" and 10 for the year 2010. PMcD. It also has a paper label "PMcD Glass Studio LTD, Handmade in Crieff Scotland." This is one of Peter McDougall's special 2010 limited edition paperweights and is limited to 35 paperweights. It is etched on the bottom 7/35 below the signature cane. It comes with a certificate identifying the paperweight. The picture does not do justice to this paperweight. | 2578 | Peter McDougall Millefiori Pin or Candy Dish with complex canes
on pink lace. Colorful pin dish or candy dish with a spaced complex
millefiori on a pink lace or upset muslin ground. There are seventeen
complex canes, all of which appear to be different. It is signed
in the design with a complex cane made from four separate letter canes
forming the signature PMcD and also has a paper label "PMcD Glass Studio
LTD, Handmade in Crieff Scotland." This is especially nice.
Scottish makers have a history of making candy dishes and other shapes out of paperweights when they realize that the product is flawed in some way. I suspect that they also make these dishes to order. In this case, the only flaw I can see is that a few of the canes are slightly smudged. Large Size: Just under 4” diameter by 1 1/2” high.

2004 Annual Edition Peter McDougall Millefiori Butterfly Paperweight.
This
paperweight consists wonderful large butterfly made from pink, blue, and
yellow complex millefiori canes with added lampwork for the eyes and antennae.
The central butterfly is surrounded by five smaller butterflies.
It is signed in the design with a complex cane made from four separate
letter canes forming the signature PMcD. The paperweight was one
of the special annual editions made in 2004. It has wonderful complex
canes with perfect execution.

This
paperweight consists a miniature multi-color flower with two leaves and
a bud over almost opaque black ground. There is an outer garland
of pink and white floret canes. It is signed on the bottom with a
complex cane made from four separate letter canes forming the signature
PMcD. The paperweight was one of the special annual edition made
in 2004.

Lace Ground Paperweight. This paperweight features a creative
new design from Peter McDougall. There is a concentric design of
two rings of complex canes surrounded by a ring of eight red forget-me-nots
set on a white latticinio ground. Take a good look at the closeup
to see the intricate detail in the two concentric rings and the amazing
cane
in the center. An beautiful paperweight.
This paperweight is signed on the bottom with a new complex signature / date cane that includes the initials "PMcD" and 10 for the year 2010. PMcD. paperweight consists a close packed design of millefiori canes over a cobalt
blue ground. Peter McDougall's traditional "PMcD" signature cane
appears in the design. In addition, it is signed on the bottom with
a paper label ""PMcD Glass Studio LTD, Hand Made in Crieff Scotland."
A really sparkling little paperweight.
Peter made a similar design at Perthshire Paperweights. It was one of my favorite designs. Originally Perthshire made a simple closepack like this only as a doorknob. In 1997, I asked Peter McDougall if he would make one for me as a paperweight. They liked the result so much that they decided to put it into regular production in two sizes. This paperweight consists of 31 different
complex millefiori over a yellow lace or upset muslin ground. It
is signed in the design with a complex cane made from four separate letter
canes forming the signature PMcD. The paperweight was one of the
special designs that he showed at Wheaton Village in 2008. It has
wonderful complex canes with perfect execution.

| 2013 | 2004 Annual Edition Peter McDougall Red Swirl with Yellow Flower
Paperweight. This wonderful paperweight from Peter McDougall
consists of a five petal yellow flower with two leaves and a millefiori
center perfectly placed on a dainty red swirl latticinio bed. This
is one of the exciting new paperweights introduced in 2004. I think
the result is absolutely fantastic. It is signed on the bottom with
a complex cane made from four separate letter canes forming the signature
PMcD.

paperweight consists of a paneled millefiori pattern of wonderful colors
on a black ground. There are nine panels and a large yellow, blue,
and white complex millefiori cane in the center. It is signed on

the signature PMcD. A wonderful paperweight with great color.

Canes. This paperweight consists four concentric circles of complex
millefiori around a complex central millefiori cane. It is signed
on the bottom with a complex cane made from four separate letter canes
forming the signature PMcD (as shown in the close-up). It is a spectacular
paperweight with wonderful color and perfect execution.
This paperweight is one of the experimental designs Peter made to display at the 2008 Wheaton Village Paperweight Fest. If it is a successful design, Peter will introduce it into his regular product line. It is one of the few designs that Peter makes with a clear ground. Clear grounds are more demanding to make because they require more precision. Please ignore the white areas, they are glare from the lights. Large size: Just under 3" diameter by just over 2" high. Outstanding condition with no scratches, chips or cracks. The bottom is ground concave. Signed on the bottom with a PMcD cane. | 2550 | Peter McDougall Miniature Millefiori Paperweight. This
paperweight consists three concentric circles of millefiori around two
central millefiori canes. Although it is not a true concentric, it
gives the appearance of a concentric because the pattern is so regular.
The ground is black. It is signed in the design with a complex cane
made from four separate letter canes forming the signature PMcD (as shown
in the close-up).
This is often called a pressed weight because a mold is used to form the outside ribbing. The top is flattened. The ribbing gives the glass a real glittery appearance as you can see in the picture. as a six pointed star. Each point of the star is a double point.
